Reform of the economic dismissal: A fake gift for employers?

Announced as a flagship measure of the Labor Act of August 8th, 2016, the redefinition of the dismissal for economic reasons came into force on December 1st, 2016. It is supposed to satisfy a long lasting request from employers, but it makes workers' unions and a part of the political class jump up during this period of campaigns for elections. Is that really justified? Is this legislation really so innovative? Not so sure…
